Working with your own natural body language can reveal where you tend to over-extend, collapse, move too quickly or too slowly, send mixed signals to others, or avoid contact. Few of us were taught how to slow down the speeding freight train of the mind long enough to untangle these kinds of somatic issues, but anyone can learn to listen to the body as a critical source of information about how to best meet each moment.
As we develop during childhood and into our adult lives, we acquire layers of experiences that shape the emotional and physical habits that eventually can work against our best efforts to change and grow. We want to shift a behavior, but suddenly find ourselves falling right back into our old patterns. Our mind often tries to forge ahead without our bodies.
Somatic coaching is a way to bring our whole being into alignment in order to move toward what we want. In my personal journey with this type of somatic work, I uncovered a source of embodied wisdom within myself that quite literally changed my life. This work is an invitation to renew your focus; to RESIGHT your life.
If you are considering this method, a brief Introduction to Somatic Concepts is available here.
What this is NOT…
Somatic coaching is NOT:
psychotherapy/psychiatry
counseling (marital/relationship, addiction-focused or other forms of traditional counseling)
life coaching
strategic planning
a substitute for medical advice
While we may touch on areas that are an adjunct to work you may be doing in any of the areas above, I will refer clients out to specialists as appropriate in areas I am not qualified to address. My intention is always to hold space in the areas where I am competent to guide you, and help connect you to other caring guides in the areas where I can’t help.

It doesn’t matter how long you forget, only how soon you remember!
